Our client is a global firm, headquartered in the USA. They sell financial markets products that help investors and financial institutions make investment decisions.
We are working with one of their business units that provides retail financial market websites and mobile applications on a global basis. We are looking for a passionate and effective leader to drive the rapid evolution and growth of this dynamic business unit. Your responsibility will be the achievement of revenue, profit, and growth objectives of this $50M+ global operation. The position is based in our client's Chicago office, and you will lead a 160+ person globally distributed team of software development, sales, marketing, membership, and client service functions located in Chicago, Shenzhen China, London, and Mumbai, India.
A rapidly changing technology and investing environment necessitates that you stay abreast of the latest trends in internet and mobile technologies, consumer technology behavior, investments and investing, and personal finance. You must understand evolving online and mobile business models and e- partnership structures. By leveraging this domain expertise you will inspire your team through a clearly articulated vision, strong communication and collaboration skills, negotiation and persuasion skills, and a sensitivity to global needs and cultural differences. You will be expected to refine and evolve the business operating structure, evangelize into the marketplace, actively manage the software development lifecycle, and generally adopt a hands-on management approach.

Responsibilities
+ Drive product vision, business strategy, and tactical execution.
+ Supervise key functions of development, sales/marketing, SEO/membership, editorial, and partnership syndication.
+ Optimize operations and processes to continuously improve the quality of our product offerings.
+ Manage budgeting and personnel practices, and deliver financial results per plan.
+ Deliver on the key 2012 initiatives of launching a highly interactive iPad app, consolidating and simplifying our global website platforms, building customer intelligence capabilities, upgrading key elements of our website infrastructure, and improving on "best place to work" practices.
+ Work closely with the CTO office and shared service teams to promote consolidation and reuse of technologies/technology components company-wide.
+ Ensure ongoing success of the core advertising/sponsorship business model by working with sales management, sales people, and clients/prospects to build business and devise creative sponsorship and syndication opportunities.
+ Collaborate with other members of the senior management team across Morningstar, including global country managers.
+ Engage with editorial experts internally and externally to ensure a content-rich, relevant experience for customers.
+ Provide executive support to key client and vendor relationships, and explore potential acquisitions and joint ventures.
